Note that the majority of the GameBase code was written by me (James Burrows) waaay back in the 20th century as an exercise to learn how to program - so it may not be the most optimised, clever or succinct bit of code you have ever seen, but it works (mostly) and people seem to like the program. If you've got any problem with it, then the source-code is available and you're free to do whatever you wish with it (subject to any license restrictions). I make no claims to the code's suitability for any given purpose, and I don't advise you use it as a means of learning good programming design or anything like that (although it does use pretty much *every* feature of Visual Basic).
